Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to everyone who uses Hokku, operated by Hokku LLC, and forms part of our Terms of Service. You are responsible for your Authorized Users' compliance with this AUP. We may update it from time to time.

1. Prohibited Uses

You may not, and may not permit anyone else to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, infringing, or deceptive purpose, or in violation of any law or regulation;
  • Copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to discover the source code, models, or underlying structure of the Service, except where this restriction is prohibited by law;
  • Use the Service to build, train, or improve a competing product or service, or to copy its features, design, or "look and feel";
  • Scrape, crawl, or use bots or automated means to access or extract data, except through our documented API within its limits;
  • Resell, sublicense, rent, or operate a service bureau using the Service without our written permission;
  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent usage limits, rate limits, access controls, tenant isolation, or security or authentication measures;
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or access accounts, engines, data, or systems you are not authorized to access;
  • Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code, or interfere with the integrity, performance, or availability of the Service;
  • Send spam or unsolicited bulk communications, or violate anti-spam or electronic-communications laws;
  • Store or transmit content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, harassing, or that violates the privacy or rights of others, or that you lack the right to submit;
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or remove or obscure proprietary notices;
  • Benchmark the Service or publish performance results without our prior written consent.

2. Fair Use & Resource Limits

Your plan includes specified usage allowances. You may not place an excessive or disproportionate load on the Service, exceed your plan's limits, or use automated means to consume a disproportionate share of resources. We may meter usage and enforce limits as described in the Terms.

3. AI Features

AI Features (such as Verse) are subject to usage allowances. You may not use automated, excessive, or abusive means to consume AI resources beyond your allowance, attempt to bypass AI usage limits, or use the Service or its Output to develop, train, or improve a competing AI model or service. If you connect your own AI provider key, you are responsible for your usage and costs and for compliance with that provider's terms.

4. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and may, at our discretion and without liability: remove or disable content; throttle, rate-limit, or charge for excessive usage; suspend or terminate accounts; and report unlawful activity to authorities. Sections of the Terms governing suspension, termination, and liability apply.
